The British Union of Fascists (BUF), founded in 1932 under Sir Oswald Mosley, was a political movement in interwar Britain. Membership badges such as this were issued to registered members and served as visible symbols of affiliation prior to the organisation’s ban in 1940.
The enamel remains largely intact with only light surface wear consistent with age. The reverse hook has been repaired at some point, but remains functional and stable, with clear numbering still visible.
