INCREDIBLE Original WWII German 7×50 Panzer binoculars manufactured by Hensoldt, known among collectors as the “ice-cream cone” style due to their tall tapered housings. Marked Dienstglas 7×50 with wartime code bmj and serial number 556504. Almost all textured black finish remains, with clear optics and fully adjustable eyepieces. Complete with the original leather neck strap. A solid, untouched example of a high-quality optical instrument issued to armoured troops.

Historical Context

The 7×50 “bmj” Hensoldt binoculars were prized by tank crews and artillery observers for their bright lenses and rugged construction. Their tall tapered body allowed for improved light gathering—vital in low-light conditions inside tanks or during dusk operations. These binoculars represent some of the finest optical engineering of the war.

Condition

Good used condition with expected field wear. Textured finish largely intact, metal surfaces show light rubbing. Optics remain clear with normal internal dust. Strap shows age but remains complete. No post-war alterations.
