INCREDIBLE Original wartime pair of German Army Dienstglas 7x50 field binoculars, manufactured by bmk (Srb & Stys, Prague). These high-quality optics feature interchangeable filter lenses for low-light and anti-glare conditions, a right-side range-finding reticle, and the maker code bmk with serial number 157498 on the plate. Designed for field and observation use by Wehrmacht and Kriegsmarine personnel, these were favoured for their wide objective lenses and durability.

Historical Context

The 7x50 Dienstglas was the standard optical instrument for Wehrmacht and Kriegsmarine officers during WWII, designed for reconnaissance, artillery spotting, and naval observation. The bmk coded models by Srb & Stys were particularly valued for their coated optics and high optical clarity. The addition of filter lenses provided protection from glare and improved performance under various lighting conditions, making them a key piece of German wartime field equipment.

Condition

Good overall condition with expected wartime wear. Partial loss of black finish and minor corrosion to the objective rims. Left lens has a fine hairline crack but remains clear during use. Textured grip largely intact with minor flaking. Lenses show some dust and minor internal speckling consistent with age. Mechanically sound, optics align properly.
