Original WWII German Sterbebild (death card) for Gefreiter Maximilian Meier, a mortar crewman (Werfer-Abteilung) who served on the Eastern Front. Born 23 November 1923 in Ried am Pfahl, he was severely wounded on 5 March 1944 and died the following day in a field hospital. He rests at the Heldenfriedhof Wysskoji Ost.

The card features Meier’s portrait in uniform, an illustration of a soldier’s grave, and prayer verses honouring his sacrifice. Printed by Buchdruckerei Lohr Cham, it stands as a poignant remembrance of a fallen German soldier.
