Original Wehrmacht Erkennungsmarke (ID disc) marked H.N.Za. Köln, identifying it as belonging to the Heeresnachschubamt Köln — the Army Supply Office Cologne. The disc is made from aluminium and bears the soldier or worker identification number 261. These tags were issued to personnel within the army’s supply and logistics administration responsible for managing equipment, fuel, and transport infrastructure across the Western military district.

Historical Context

The Heeresnachschubämter (Army Supply Offices) were key logistical branches within the Wehrmacht, responsible for maintaining the flow of supplies, weapons, ammunition, fuel, and equipment from depots to front-line units. The Cologne branch (Köln) was part of Wehrkreis VI, a major administrative and military district in western Germany. Personnel stationed here were typically tasked with vehicle maintenance, depot management, and administrative duties tied to the transport and resupply network supporting the Western and later Central Fronts.

Condition

Excellent condition for age — clearly stamped lettering, minor surface scratches, and natural patina typical of aluminium discs.
