An original matched pair of German Army officer shoulder boards for the rank of Hauptmann (Captain), distinguished by the white Waffenfarbe piping of the Infantry. These are genuine period examples showing honest service wear, making them excellent “been there” pieces with strong character and authenticity.
Hauptmann was the rank of Captain within the Heer and typically commanded a company-sized unit. Infantry officers formed the backbone of the German Army throughout the Second World War, serving across all major theatres from Poland and France through to the Eastern Front. White piping identifies the Infantry branch, one of the most prominent and heavily engaged arms of the Wehrmacht.
