Original matching pair of German M36 shoulder boards for an NCO serving in Artillery Regiment 22. The boards retain their silver NCO tress, red artillery Waffenfarbe edging, and original metal “22” unit numerals with rank pips. A textbook, lightly field-worn pair ideal for collectors and uniform restoration.
Artillery Regiment 22 formed part of early-war German Army operations, serving in campaigns such as Poland and France before later deployment on the Eastern Front. NCOs in artillery units played a key role in directing gun crews, managing fire missions, and maintaining communication between battery officers and gun teams. Shoulder boards like these were worn on the standard M36 and M40 tunics throughout the conflict.
Good field-worn condition with minor moth nibbling on the reverse, light fraying along the edges, and signs of age, while the fronts, tress, and numerals remain intact and present well.
