Original German DRA Sports Badge in bronze grade, produced by the well-known manufacturer L. Chr. Lauer of Nürnberg. This is an authentic period example bearing its original issue number and correct hardware, representing one of the most widely awarded yet historically significant Third Reich-era sports and fitness decorations.
The DRA Sports Badge was awarded to civilians and service members who met national fitness and athletic standards established by the Deutscher Reichsausschuss für Leibesübungen. Introduced in the early 1930s and continued through the Third Reich period, the badge symbolised physical preparedness and mental discipline. Bronze-grade examples were the entry-level award, making them historically important as a representation of mass participation in state-sponsored athletic programs.
This example remains in good overall condition. The badge retains strong definition throughout the oak wreath and central monogram, with even wear and an attractive aged patina. The reverse shows correct manufacturer marking and issue number, with the pin, hinge, and catch intact and functional.
