Original Kriegsmarine cap tally for the light cruiser Kreuzer Emden. This example shows clear signs of field wear and retains its gold machine-woven Gothic script. Glue residue is present on the reverse where it was previously mounted in an album, but the obverse remains well-preserved and displays strongly.
The Kreuzer Emden name was carried by multiple German naval ships, with the WW2-era Emden (launched 1925) serving as a light cruiser in training, escort, and operational roles throughout the conflict. Cap tallies identified a sailor’s assigned vessel and were worn on the traditional naval sailor cap. Surviving tallies from named ships—especially those with service histories—are sought after by collectors due to their connection to individual crewmen and specific naval units.
Field-worn condition with visible wear to the ribbon and several glue spots on the reverse from previous album mounting, though the front lettering remains clear and intact.
