Original German WWII ribbon bar featuring the Iron Cross Second Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse) and Eastern Front Medal (Ostmedaille) ribbons. This double ribbon bar would have been worn on the uniform of a decorated soldier who served both on the Eastern Front and was recognised for bravery or merit in combat.
The Iron Cross Second Class was awarded for acts of bravery in battle or exceptional leadership, while the Eastern Front Medal was presented to those who served in the brutal winter campaign against the Soviet Union in 1941–42. Combined, these ribbons signify a veteran of frontline combat on the Eastern Front, one of WWII’s most significant and devastating theatres.
