Original Italian local-level leader shoulder board featuring a hand-embroidered bullion wire fasces insignia on black cloth backing. This is a genuine MVSN (Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale) officer rank piece from the Mussolini era.

Historical Context

During the Mussolini regime in Italy, local-level leaders of the MVSN (Blackshirts) wore distinctive insignia denoting command rank within local party organisations. The fasces symbol—a bundle of rods bound around an axe—represented authority and unity under the state. These bullion shoulder boards were worn on parade and dress uniforms by ranking officers between the 1930s and 1943, with subtle design variations marking local administrative leadership tiers.

Condition

Good condition overall with visible wear and fraying from uniform use, but retaining all original elements including the embroidered emblem and brass button. Thread and cloth remain structurally stable.
