Original Luftwaffe officer’s bullion cap cockade, hand-embroidered in silver and gilt wire on dark blue wool backing. This piece was cap-removed, showing correct period stitching and backing paper reinforcement.
The design features oak leaf wreaths and wings surrounding the Luftwaffe-style national cockade, executed in fine wire bullion with red, black, and silver detailing.
These embroidered cockades were worn by Luftwaffe officers on the front of the Schirmmütze (visor cap) as a symbol of rank and service. Each example was handmade, reflecting the prestige associated with Luftwaffe officer attire.
Good overall condition. Some minor moth nips to the upper edge of the wreath but no significant damage. Excellent silver sheen and strong bullion integrity remain.
