Original WW2 Luftwaffe enlisted man’s sleeve chevron, worn to denote rank progression. This example shows clear field wear with paper remnants to the reverse from where it was once glued into a period photo album. A textbook construction chevron and a strong example of a Luftwaffe combat-used insignia.
The Luftwaffe utilised a system of cloth chevrons to denote enlisted ranks such as Gefreiter and Obergefreiter. These were typically sewn onto the left sleeve of the standard Luftwaffe tunic or flight blouse. The silver tress and dark wool backing were distinctive to the branch of service and are often encountered in period photos of aircrew, Flak units, and ground personnel. Field-worn examples like this offer excellent authenticity and show genuine service use.
Well-used condition with fraying around edges and wear to the wool backing. Paper residue remains on the reverse from album mounting. Stitching intact and insignia remains structurally sound.
