Original pre-war German sports badge documentation grouping belonging to Alfred Huch, who earned both the Bronze and Silver grades of the Deutsches Turn- und Sportabzeichen (DRA). This complete set includes his primary sports badge achievement booklet, which records his progress and official stamps toward both awards, alongside a certificate for a 3000m race (Chemnitz, 1929) and several other official Reichssportamt and DRA correspondences documenting his training and competition results.

Also included is the original DRA conditions booklet for men, outlining the athletic standards and test requirements for the period. Together, these pieces provide a rich snapshot of an athlete’s personal record within Germany’s interwar physical fitness movement.

Historical Context

The Deutsches Turn- und Sportabzeichen was Germany’s official national sports award, created in 1913 by the Deutscher Reichsausschuss für Leibesübungen (DRA). It recognised physical endurance, strength, and skill through graded testing in athletics, swimming, and gymnastics. Groupings like this, especially with both Bronze and Silver grades documented, are valuable for illustrating the continuity of personal athletic achievement across the interwar years and into the early Reich sports administration.

Condition

Good overall condition with natural age toning. All documents remain legible and complete, with original signatures, stamps, and official seals present. Minor edge wear consistent with age.
