Historical Context

Wolfgang Willrich (1897–1948) was one of the Third Reich's most prolific artists, celebrated for his depictions of soldiers and Germanic figures. His portraits were widely reproduced on postcards, prints, and book illustrations during the Third Reich to promote the heroic image of the German soldier.

The VDA-Schulsammlung postcards, produced by the VDA organisation, were sold to raise funds for ethnic German communities abroad and to strengthen patriotic sentiment on the home front.

Condition

Excellent condition with only light age toning and minor edge wear. Colours remain vivid; reverse side unused and clean.
