Original wartime Waffen-SS or Panzer rank chevron, manufactured in black wool with two machine-stitched grey chevrons. A textbook, unused example with minor storage wear, suitable for display or uniform restoration.
Rank chevrons were worn on the upper left sleeve of Waffen-SS and Panzer uniforms to indicate enlisted promotions such as Oberschütze or Gefreiter. These cloth insignia were produced in large quantities but are now increasingly scarce in undamaged condition due to moth exposure and postwar disposal.
The chevron remains in unused condition with clean surfaces and crisp stitching. Minor flaws include a small moth nip on the right edge and one small hole above the inner chevron, consistent with storage. No UV glow confirms wartime materials.
