Original German Militärapass (military paybook / service booklet) issued to Gefreiter Peter Simans, born 1862, documenting his service with the 2. Rheinisches Feld-Artillerie-Regiment Nr. 23 and later Hessisches Feld-Artillerie-Regiment Nr. 11. This period service pass records enlistment details, unit transfers, and military status during the late 19th century Imperial German Army.

Historical Context

The Militärapass was the standard service record for enlisted men and non-commissioned ranks in the Imperial German Army, issued upon induction and carried throughout a soldier’s term of service. Entries in this example show Simans’ postings to two field artillery regiments and include period unit details, signatures, and stamps from command authorities in the 1889–1892 period. Such passes were critical documents for pension, reserve status, and official military obligations in the pre-First World War German Empire.

Condition

The paybook is in good original condition with intact covers and legible text throughout. Pages show age-appropriate toning and light handling marks but remain complete and clear with no major losses.
