Original Hindenburg Cross (Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs) ribbon bar from the First World War. Features the traditional black–white–red tricolour pattern representing Imperial Germany. Constructed with a stitched fabric backing and brass pin on reverse for uniform attachment. A clean and genuine piece of interwar German veteran insignia, showing light age-related patina.
The Hindenburg Cross was instituted in 1934 by President Paul von Hindenburg to honour German veterans of World War I. The ribbon, bearing Imperial colours, symbolised remembrance of wartime service and national unity. Worn on daily uniforms as a miniature or ribbon bar, it was among the most widely distributed German awards prior to WWII.
