An original World War I era leather holster for the P08 Luger pistol, complete with its period disassembly tool (Werkzeug). Marked internally with the B.A.X acceptance stamp of the Bekleidungsamt (Clothing Office) of the 10th Army Corps, this example represents a textbook Imperial German issue holster from the closing stages of the Great War.
Historical Context
The P08 Luger was the standard sidearm of the Imperial German Army during the First World War. Each pistol was issued with a fitted brown leather holster, designed to carry not only the firearm but also a loading/disassembly tool housed in a dedicated internal pouch.
The B.A.X marking identifies this holster as having been accepted by the Bekleidungsamt of the X (10th) Army Corps, responsible for inspection and distribution of equipment within that corps district. The partially visible date marked “19**” places production at the very end of the war period, likely 1918 or 1919, when supply contracts were still being fulfilled. Holsters of this type saw widespread service on both Western and Eastern Fronts and are closely associated with frontline Imperial German officers and NCOs.
Condition
The leather retains a deep, rich dark-brown tone with attractive period patina. Surface wear, minor scuffs and light abrasions are consistent with age and service use. All straps remain present, supple and fully functional, including the closure strap and belt loops. Stitching is intact and strong throughout. The interior flap clearly shows the B.A.X acceptance stamp and partial date. The original Luger disassembly tool is present in its designated inner pocket. Overall, an excellent and complete example for its age.

Did a lot of comparing before buying and ended up here. Item turned up exactly as pictured, which honestly is all I ask for these days. Packaging was solid too. Would buy again.

Not my first militaria purchase, but probably the first time I didn’t feel like I had to “decode” the listing. Straightforward, clear photos, realistic condition notes. That alone earns trust.

What I liked most was the way the history was presented. Factual and clearly written for collectors instead of glorifying anything. That matters to me.

Bought one piece initially just to test the waters. Ended up placing another order a week later. That should say enough.

I collect mainly German pieces and I was pleasantly surprised by how accurate the description was. Nothing overstated, nothing hidden. Kind of rare now. Very happy with the purchase.
