Hurry up! Only 1 item is in stock!

Original WWII Italian Army Engineer Officer’s cap badge, hand-embroidered in fine gold bullion wire on grey wool backing. The design features the flaming grenade insignia above crossed tools and ornamented foliage — the traditional emblem of the Genio (Engineers) branch of the Royal Italian Army (Regio Esercito).

This is a wartime officer-quality example, made with high-relief gold wire embroidery and a black velvet centerpiece. The reverse shows period hand-stitching and age-toned thread work consistent with field and service use.

Historical Context

Italian Army Engineer officers played a crucial role in fortification, demolition, and logistical operations across North Africa, the Balkans, and Italy between 1939–1943. Their insignia often displayed meticulous craftsmanship, reflecting the prestige of technical and command roles within the army.

Condition

Very good condition for age. Some minor fraying and surface wear from storage, but embroidery remains bright and well-preserved.
